Netflix Subscribers Even Soar After Implementing Password Sharing Prohibition

Previously, news of an increase in Netflix subscribers after the rule of additional fees for sharing passwords had been revealed some time ago.

The report from the analytics firm Antenna mentions the number of subscribers or subscribers Netflix even experienced an increase after the Netflix account sharing rules were implemented.

Antenna said, in the United States, Netflix got the country’s largest four-day sign-ups in four-and-a-half years, when tracking the data.

To quote EngadgetMonday (12/6/2023), on May 26 and 27, there were nearly 100,000 registrants every day.

The Antenna report claims, during each of the four days, Netflix records an average of 73,000 new members. This figure is 102 percent higher than the average for the previous 60 days.

Antenna also mentioned, users who canceled their membership also increased in that period. However, the enrollment figure far exceeds those who discontinue their subscription.

The analytics company also said that this was the biggest increase for new Netflix account registrations in Uncle Sam’s country, since the Covid-19 lockdown began in March and April 2020.

In fact, the expansion of additional fee rules for sharing passwords or passwords that Netflix recently implemented in the United States and a number of countries, is known to have received a lot of protests, criticism, and ridicule.

Some subscribers also claim to discontinue their Netflix subscription after the policy takes effect.
