Absent in 4 races, Marc Marquez races again at the French MotoGP

Previously, Marquez was replaced by Iker Lecuona at the Spanish MotoGP. Lecuona, who entered World Superbike with Team HRC, underwent two full MotoGP seasons in 2020-2021 with KTM.

There is a vacant seat at Repsol Honda because Marquez is still undergoing the process of recovering from his injury.

“First, I want to wish Marc all the best in his recovery. He is a reference in MotoGP. I think not only the fans, but also the racers really miss him,” Lecuona was quoted as saying by Repsol Honda’s official statement.

“Of course this is an extraordinary opportunity to return to MotoGP and race with my dream team,” continued the figure from Spain.

Lecuona said that his biggest challenge at the moment was adapting as quickly as possible to the RC213V after getting used to riding the CBR1000RR-R in WSBK.

“Doing it in front of a Spanish crowd is something special. But we have to be realistic, it will be a very tough and demanding weekend,” he said.
