Ahead of Persebaya vs PSS, Paul Munster Prepares Bajul Ijo Strategy to Reduce Super Elja

Surabaya, Beritasatu.com – Persebaya Surabaya Head Coach, Paul Munster stated that his team had enough time to recover their stamina ahead of the League 1 match against PSS Sleman at the Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium in Surabaya, Sunday (3/3/2024) afternoon.

In a press conference at the GBT Stadium in Surabaya on Saturday (2/3/2024), Munster explained that preparations for the team nicknamed Bajul Ijo were going well, even though several players were suspended and had health problems.

Munster is currently considering players who will start in the match against the team nicknamed Super Elja, including players like Duarte who are not yet in optimal condition. Although the previous two away matches ended in draws, the UEFA Pro licensed coach emphasized that his team had scored goals and created many chances.

“Currently the team is making progress even though several matches ended in draws. We continue to evaluate and prepare for a good match,” said Munster.

The coach from Northern Ireland also explained that his team's focus was on the remaining eight matches, despite the announcement of an early end to Song Ui-Yong's contract.

Persebaya player, Kasim Botan, stated that the team had worked hard to face this match and was ready to take the three points. Munster emphasized that there were no problems with the team's physical condition due to the busy match schedule.

“We have recovered after a long journey, and now we just have to choose the team and squad for the match. Our focus is on scoring goals and winning, especially in the match against PSS Sleman,” he added.

Persebaya Surabaya, which is currently ranked 12th with a collection of 32 points from 26 matches. Meanwhile, PSS Sleman, which still needs points to stay away from the relegation zone, is in 14th place with a score of 31 points from 26 matches.
