Ahead of the U-18 SEABA, the Women's National Basketball Team is holding a training camp in Bali

Jakarta, Beritasatu.com – The Indonesian U-18 women's national basketball team will again hold a training camp (TC) in Bali on April 29. This training camp was held as preparation for the SEABA U-18 competition.

After starting TC again, the players will return to focus on intensive training until their departure to take part in SEABA U-18 in Thailand on 24-26 May.

SEABA U-18 is a qualifying event for the FIBA ​​U-18 Women's Asia Cup 2024 Division A which will be held in Senzhen, China on June 24-30.

A total of 18 players from various regions in Indonesia have joined TC in Bali after successfully passing the selection on March 22-24.

This selection involved 54 players and was the result of monitoring various championships as well as recommendations from Perbasi provincial administrators (pengprov) throughout Indonesia.

The Manager of the U-18 Women's National Basketball Team, Dedy Setiawan, said that during the selection process, the coaches gave appreciation to players who had almost uniform individual abilities.

According to him, players who successfully pass the selection have great potential to become senior national team stars in the future, so they need to be trained intensively to hone their skills.

Dedy also emphasized that the 18 players who had joined TC could not feel completely safe. This is due to the promotion and relegation system implemented in training camps.

Players who do not show sufficient development risk being eliminated if players with greater potential are discovered.

Dedy added that selection was still open for players who were unable to attend due to their involvement in education abroad.

These players include Jasmine Prajitno and Justine Parjitno from West Java, Maxine Maria Sutisna and Evangeline Clarissa Djohan from DKI Jakarta, and Callista Gabrielle Purwadi and Felicitas Mikayla Purwadi from Banten.
