AJC 2023: Thalita Passes Without Breaking a Lot of Sweat, Reza is Detained

– Women’s singles Thalita Ramadhani Wiryawan without much sweat advanced to the third round of the Badminton Asia Junior Championships (AJC) 2023. This was confirmed by Thalita after defeating Sri Lankan player Praveena Wijesundara 21-9, 21-9 at the Amongraga Sports Hall, Yogyakarta, Wednesday (12 /7/2023).

Thalita showed that she was still too tough for her opponent. The Jaya Junior International Challenge 2022 Development Champion said playing loose and focused was the key to winning matches.

“I just want to show my best game here. I want to focus from game to game. I don’t want to think too much about what the future will look like,” said Thalita.

In the third round, Thalita will face China’s women’s singles, Huang Lin Ran.

It was recorded that the women’s singles from the Bamboo Curtain Country went smoothly after her opponent from Thailand, Sarunrak Vitidsarn, withdrew.

From the men’s singles, Muhammad Reza Al Fajri was stuck in the last 64 after surrendering to the 10th seed from India, Ayush Shetty with a score of 14-21, 21-18, 19-21.

Reza admitted that he lacked focus on critical points so he had to give up within 51 minutes. “I lost focus at the end of the game. When I can catch up, I lose focus,” said the player from Makassar.

Until now, the men’s singles sector has passed Zidane Cahyo Nugroho, Alwi Farhan, and Jaden Abdullah Usman Putra Ayus.
