Apart from wanting to defend the belt, Stamp is also aiming for the Strawweight MMA Belt

Jakarta, Beritasatu.com – Stamp Fairtex will soon defend her belt at One 167 in June 2024. He does not rule out the possibility of winning a second MMA belt in a heavier class.

As world champion in three different disciplines, the Thai megastar has many choices in her career as a versatile female fighter.

He has also been scheduled to defend the belt next Saturday (8/6/2024) after being scheduled for One 166: Qatar. However, she had to face her friend and top third challenger, Denice Zamboanga.

The two of them had trained together at the famous Fairtex gym which was Stamp's home, but Zamboanga finally had to leave after seeing an opportunity for a meeting between them.

When asked about her upcoming opponent, Stamp admitted that she couldn't wait to compete in her first MMA belt defense. He also admitted that his friend was quite dangerous.

“I think Denice could throw me to the mat and press me. That's what makes it even more dangerous,” he continued.

When the two were still training together at Fairtex, neither Stamp nor Zamboanga had ever spoken about the possibility of a match between the two. Only each had realized that it was inevitable.

“I never talked to him about it, but we were aware of each other's thoughts,” Stamp explained.

Zamboanga has now bagged two consecutive wins over Lin Heqin and Julie Mezabarba, after previously losing twice to top challenger Ham Seo Hee.

However, Stamp has proven his worth by defeating Ham via third round TKO. He also succeeded in winning the MMA belt previously held by Angela Lee.

Aim for Another Belt
Apart from wanting to defend the belt, Stamp also does not rule out the possibility of returning to muay thai or kickboxing. He also attended One Fight Night 20 to watch Phetjeeja and Allycia Hellen Rodrigues in action.

Going back, Stamp has also held belts in kickboxing and muay thai. He could return to competing in these two disciplines and win his old belt again.

Furthermore, the 26 year old athlete is also eyeing the strawweight MMA belt held by Xiong Jing Nan. Even Angela, who once defeated Stamp, failed to win Jing Nan's belt twice.

“After defending the belt I want to move up to strawweight and face Xiong Jing Nan. I had thought about this fight before I won the MMA belt. We are both strikers, and neither of us wants to knock each other out,” he concluded.
