Winning the 100th Podium at WSBK Italy, Toprak is Not Satisfied

– Pata Yamaha Prometeon racer, Toprak Razgatlioglu celebrated his 100th podium in the Italian World Superbike (WSBK) at the Imola Circuit, Saturday (15/7) local time. In the WSBK Italian race, Toprak finished second after 3.672 seconds adrift of Race 1 leader Alvaro Bautista (Aruba It Ducati).

This achievement also extended Toprak’s impressive record of 16 consecutive finishes in the top three.

With 100 podium finishes, Toprak equaled the scores of Jonathan Rea, Troy Corser, Noriyuki Haga, Tom Sykes and Carl Fogarty.

However, this achievement did not make Toprak happy or even satisfied.

“I’m not 100 percent satisfied because I finished second because my main goal is to win this race,” said Toprak after the race.

“In the first race I felt good, but because the tires were running out I could see that the Ducati still had very good acceleration. I tried to keep fighting with him, but the effort was not enough,” he added.

The third podium was secured by Kawasaki Racing racer, Jonathan Rea (Kawasaki Racing). This achievement made Rea a total of 252 podiums throughout his career in the WSBK class.

In the race at Imola, Rea was 7.847 seconds away from Bautista. “This is a very demanding competition! This is one of those races where I didn’t expect to be on the podium, even though that’s my goal in every race,” said Rea.
