Badminton AJC: Adrian/Felisha Bring Indonesia to a 1-0 lead over India

Mixed doubles Adrian Pratama/Felisha Alberta Nathaniel Pasaribu brought Indonesia a 1-0 lead over India in the Indonesian mixed team badminton match at the 2023 BNI Badminton Asia Junior Championships (AJC) against India.

In the match that was held at the Amongraga Sports Hall, Yogyakarta, Monday (10/7/2023), Adrian/Felisha won with a score of 21-16, 21-15 over Samarveer/Radhika Sharma in the quarter-final match of the Badminton Asia Junior Championships (AJC).

In this match, the pair who made their debut at the BNI Badminton Asia Junior Championships 2023 admitted that they played more confidently.

Contributing points twice in the group stage helped make Adrian/Felisha more comfortable playing on the field. “Our appearance is actually the same. We are more comfortable in control of the game. The victory against the Chinese mixed doubles helped make us confident,” said Felisha.

In this match, Adrian/Felisha had difficulties when the opponent changed their game pattern in the middle of the match. Luckily both of them were able to adapt well to finally end the match within 34 minutes.

“We made a lot of unforced errors in this game. We also struggled when the opponent changed the pattern of play. We have to adapt to them first. After we adjusted we played better, “added Felisha.

After this, Adrian Pratama/Felisha Alberta Nathaniel Pasaribu wants to focus on recovery first after playing in the quarter-finals. Makkum, if you qualify for the semifinals, the Indonesian team will appear again on Monday (10/7/2023) at 16.00 pm WIB.

“Now we want to focus on recovery first. Of course, with enough rest and regular meals to face the match in the afternoon,” concluded Adrian.

With this result, Indonesia temporarily won with a score of 1-0 over India. The Young Red-White team had the opportunity to widen the gap after the men’s singles, Alwi Farhan, played in the second match. The world’s 96th in men’s singles will face India’s representative Ayush Shetty in the second match.
