Budi Arie Setiadi Gives Love Sign After Being Appointed as Minister of Communication and Information

To note, President Joko Widodo today, Monday (17/7/2023) officially inaugurated Budi Arie Setiadi as the new Minister of Communication and Information (Menkominfo), for the remainder of the term of office for the 2019-2024 period.

Apart from that, Jokowi also appointed Nezar Patria as Deputy Minister of Communication and Informatics or Wamenkominfo, to assist Budi Arie at the Ministry of Communication and Informatics.

On the same occasion, Jokowi also appointed a number of officials, namely Pahala Nugraha Mansury as Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, Paiman Raharjo as Deputy Village PDTT, Rosan Perkasa Roeslani as Deputy Minister for BUMN, and Saiful Rahmat as Deputy Minister for Religion.

With this, the Minister of Communication and Information’s chair has finally officially been filled again for the remainder of Jokowi’s term of office until next year, after the previous Minister of Communication and Information, Johnny G. Plate, became a suspect in the BTS 4G corruption case.

Previously, the leadership of the Ministry of Communication and Informatics was temporarily handed over to the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud MD as Plt. Minister of Communication and Information.

Budi Arie himself previously served as Wamendes. Before serving as Wamendes, he was known as the National Coordinator of PROJO Volunteers (Pro Jokowi) from 2013 to 2014. Then from 2014 until now, he is the General Chair of the DPP PROJO.

Since college, Budi Arie Setiadi is known as someone who is active in organizations. Quoting information from the Ministry of Health’s website, Budi, who studied at the University of Indonesia’s Communication Sciences major, has joined several student organizations.
