Carlos Alcaraz Challenges Novak Djokovic in the 2023 Wimbledon Final

– Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaraz will challenge Novak Djokovic in the Wimbledon 2023 men’s singles final, Sunday (15/7/2023) or early Monday WIB.

Alcaraz’s move to the final was determined after he easily defeated Daniil Medvedev 6-3, 6-3, 6-3 at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, London, Friday (15/7/2023) evening.

In this match, service play dominated the opening set. Alcaraz was able to convert a break point to lead 5-3 and closed the first set with a 6-3 win.

Medvedev had put pressure on games both second sets. But Alcaraz was able to get up and close the second set with a 6-3 win.

In the third set Alcaraz quickly won 2-0 after being able to break his opponent’s serve. Medvedev’s four consecutive breaks had put Alcaraz under pressure. However, Alcaraz’s composure was able to bring him victory while ensuring a ticket to the Wimbledon final.

Alcaraz enthusiastically welcomed the meeting with Djokovic in the final match later.

“I believe I can beat Djokovic. Everyone knows the legend about him. I will fight. I will believe in myself. There is no time to be afraid, no time to be tired,” Alcaraz said.

Two years ago, Alcaraz was only able to win seven games when he lost in straight sets to Medvedev at Wimbledon. At that time, he was ranked 75th in the world, while Medvedev was in second place in the ranking list.
