Continuing the Positive Trend, Milan Gets Full Points at Verona

Jakarta, Beritasatu.com – AC Milan continued the positive trend by bringing home three points from Hellas Verona headquarters after winning 3-1 in the Italian Serie A League at the Marc-Antonio Bentegodi Stadium on Sunday (17/3/2024).

The Rossoneri took a two-goal lead thanks to goals from Theo Hernandez and Christian Pulisic. Verona responded with a goal from Tijanna Noslin in the second half. However, Milan ensured their victory with a goal from Samuel Chukwueze.

What Milan achieved was their third consecutive win in the Italian League. They are increasingly firmly in second place in the standings with 62 points from 29 matches, three points ahead of Juventus who are in third place. However, AC Milan is still 13 points adrift of their city rivals, Inter Milan, who top the Italian League standings.

Verona is in 15th position with 26 points and is only two points behind Frosinone in the relegation zone.

The Rossoneri immediately threatened from the start of the match. They almost scored when Pulisic's shot hit the crossbar.

The visitors opened the scoring in the 44th minute through the action of Theo Hernandez. Rafael Leao's low pass was continued by Hernandez towards the left wing, past the Verona defender before kicking the ball into the corner of the goal from a narrow position. Milan leads 1-0.

Milan doubled their lead to 2-0 in the 50th minute through Pulisic. Okafor snatched the ball from Pawel Dawidowicz's possession in the opponent's defense area and brought the ball forward. Okafor fired a shot from inside the penalty box which was blocked by Montip. However, Pulisic struck the rebound into a goal.

Verona reduced the deficit in the 64th minute. Noslin controlled the ball well before completing a powerful shot from inside the penalty area.

Milan again increased their lead to two goals in the 79th minute through a goal from substitute Samuel Chukwueze. A corner kick from Ismael Bennacer on the left wing was headed by a Verona player.

However, Chukwueze then grabbed the rebound with a left-footed volley into the bottom corner of Verona's goal. Milan managed to maintain a 3-1 position until the end of the match.
