Crypto Holders Become OKB, Don't Forget to Report Annual SPT

Liputan6.com, Jakarta – The cryptocurrency with the largest capitalization, Bitcoin (BCT) reached its highest price of all time (all time high/ATH) by breaking the price above IDR 1 billion or around USD 69,200. This signals a significant surge in the value of crypto assets. In the last three months, the value of BTC is known to have jumped more than 51 percent with an increase of around USD 22,419.

This Bitcoin ATH phenomenon was accompanied by the emergence of many traders and investors who were labeled OKB (New Rich People) because they had been involved and focused on crypto investment for a long time. As a trader and investor who complies with Indonesian regulations, it is important to report taxes from crypto trading transactions in your annual SPT.

Since 2022, income from crypto assets has become a tax object that must be reported, according to PMK 68 of 2022. Before reporting taxes, investors need to prepare proof of tax deductions from traders or exchangers, such as Tokocrypto. Crypto taxes are reported at the end of the tax year, namely December 31, 2023.

Tokocrypto CEO, Yudhono Rawis, said that with this significant surge in Bitcoin prices, more and more people are interested in getting involved in crypto trading. However, it is important for investors to be aware of their obligations in reporting taxes on crypto transactions.

“Tokocrypto has committed to assisting its users in fulfilling their tax obligations by making tax deductions and payments in accordance with applicable regulations. In addition, we help them to complete their Annual Tax Returns for crypto taxes correctly and in accordance with the provisions of applicable tax regulations, ” said Yudho in an official statement, Thursday (7/3/2024).

Phenomenon OKB which emerged along with the surge in Bitcoin prices is also in the spotlight. Many of those who were previously little known in the investment world are now gaining attention due to their success in profiting from rising crypto asset prices.
