Duration of 5 Years, Man United Extends Marcus Rashford’s Contract

Jakarta, Beritasatu.com Manchester United have officially announced a five-year contract extension for Marcus Rashford.

This English giant club announced the news through its official website, Tuesday (18/7/2023). Previously, Rashford had a contract that would expire next year and he was a product of the Man United academy. The 25-year-old striker has scored 123 goals in 359 appearances for the Red Devils first team.

Rashford expressed his feelings about his new contract, “I joined Manchester United as a child with big dreams. Until now, ambition, pride and the desire to achieve success still drives me every time I pull on this shirt.”

He also added, “I’ve had great moments at this club, but there’s still a lot to achieve and I’ll never stop trying to achieve more trophies in the future.”

Last season, Rashford scored 30 goals for the first time in his career at Manchester United under manager Erik Ten Hag. The performance helped the team win the English League Cup and end their six-year drought.

Manchester United Director of Football John Murtough has expressed his delight at Rashford’s contract extension. He stated that the new agreement was beneficial to both parties.

“We know that Marcus still has great potential to score many more goals as he enters his peak years. We saw a strong desire from Rashford to achieve the highest level of success with Manchester United,” said Murtough.

Murtough also added, “Working with Erik Ten Hag and his coaches will provide the perfect environment for Marcus to continue to develop and become one of the best attacking players in the world.”
