Elon Musk confirms that he wants to buy Twitter – Tesla CEO Elon Musk is now willing to buy Twitter for the same price he had previously offered. The billionaire has indicated that in a letter to the board of Twitter. Musk has confirmed this after earlier reporting by bloomberg news agency.

The purchase is not yet complete. Although Elon Musk hinted last night with a message on Twitter that a takeover of the messaging service is in the air. “Buying Twitter speeds up the creation of X, the all-you-go app,” Musk tweeted.

Musk had made an offer on Twitter in April of 44 billion dollars, but later regretted it and decided in July that he wanted to abandon that deal. According to him, there are far fewer human users of the messaging service than Twitter claims and many more automated accounts or bots.

Since then, Twitter and Musk have been waging a legal battle in which the social media company is trying to hold the richest man in the world to the agreement. That case was scheduled to be filed this month in a court in the U.S. state of Delaware.

Investors reacted enthusiastically to the message and Twitter shares shot up 18 percent on Tuesday. Partly because of that sharp price jump and the fact that it was initially based on an unconfirmed message, trading in twitter shares on Wall Street was halted.
