Elon Musk Officially Announces Linda Yaccarino As New CEO of Twitter

Previously, quoting The New York Times, Friday (12/5/2023), talks between Elon Musk and Linda Yaccarino for the position of CEO of Twitter are in advanced stages. Even so, this information is still confidential.

According to several anonymous sources familiar with this matter, Yaccarino and Elon Musk have been in discussions for weeks. Last month, Linda Yaccarino even interviewed Elon Musk on stage at an advertising event in Miami, USA.

Previously, Elon Musk had indeed chosen a Twitter CEO, but he did not reveal his name.

“He (she) will start in six weeks,” said Elon Musk, who said he would also remain involved as the Executive Chair and CTO. In this case, Elon Musk will continue to oversee the product and software Twitter, although it is no longer the CEO.

Who is Linda Yaccarino

So, who exactly is Linda Yaccarino? Citing Yaccarino’s LinkedIn page and NDTV, Linda Yaccarino worked for more than a decade in the advertising industry at NBCUniversal.

Her role is to be an advocate for the advertising industry to find better ways to measure advertising effectiveness. As head of sales for NBCUniversal, Linda was key in launching streaming service Peacock, which the company had previously supported by advertising.
