Erick Thohir Wins BRI League 1 PSM Makassar Bonus Rp. 2 Billion

Liputan6.com, Jakarta- PSSI general chairman Erick Thohir confirmed that he would give a bonus to PSM Makassar as the 2022/2023 BRI League 1 champion. Juku Spell will receive a bonus of IDR 2 billion.

It is hoped that the awarding of prizes from Erick Thohir will resolve the polemic about PSM only getting a trophy when they win the BRI Liga 1. Erick hopes that the dilemma of prizes for league champions can be resolved consistently by PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB) as the operator of the highest national football caste competition.

“There is inconsistency by LIB operators regarding the champion bonus. In 2015 there was no bonus, then for the next two years (2016-2017) bonuses were provided, but since 2018 until now there are no more. What does this indicate? It’s inconsistent. Therefore, to close the confusion of the PSM players, I from PSSI will give a bonus of Rp. 2 billion. I give this bonus to appreciate the hard work of the players and coaches. Then I will check with PT LIB regarding the inconsistency and ask them to conduct an audit, “said Erick Thohir when press conference at the PSSI Office, Jakarta, Wednesday (19/4).

Erick added, managerial problems are things that will be addressed in the current PSSI management. In proper and modern sports management, all matters related to finance, both managed by PT LIB and at PSSI, must be transparent and undergo an audit process.

“I heard that money for prizes or bonuses had been handed over by LIB to PSSI. But where? I don’t know. Likewise at PSSI, what is the accountability. This also opens up loopholes that there is a mix-up between money from LIB, FIFA Forward money, and others. “Frankly, I just joined on February 16 and was surprised to learn about this. There are many inconsistencies and not being transparent in LIB and PSSI’s finances, so I will immediately ask for an audit,” he added.
