On the other hand, Apple invested IDR 1.6 trillion in Indonesia. The investment is not in the form of a factory or Apple Store, but rather to train iOS developers in Indonesia.

The training program in question is called the Apple Developer Academy. Most recently, during a visit to Indonesia, Apple CEO Tim Cook inaugurated the Apple Developer Academy Indonesia in Bali.

For your information, this is not the first time Apple has opened a training academy for developers. This company first opened the Apple Developer Academy in Indonesia in 2018, located in Jakarta.

Furthermore, Apple also opened the same academy in Surabaya and Batam. Through the Apple Developer Academy program, Apple will train developers, students and entrepreneurs in developing applications for iOS.

The Apple Developer Academy program, which already exists in Surabaya, Batam and Jakarta, has been attended by more than 2,000 prospective developers.

As revealed by the Minister of Communication and Information (Menkominfo) Budi Arie Setiadi, for the Apple Developer Academy program in Indonesia, Apple's investment is IDR 1.6 trillion.

“IDR 1.2 trillion for three academies (Apple Developer Academy in Jakarta, Surabaya and Batam). If you add another one in Bali, the figure is IDR 1.6 trillion,” said Minister of Communication and Information Budi Arie in a press conference at the Kominfo office after accompanying the President Jokowi meets with Apple Boss Tim Cook.
