Naoya Inoue Wins TKO over Stephen Fulton

Todaysgist.com, Jakarta Boxer from Japan, Naoya Inoue defeated the WBO and WBC super bantamweight world champion, Stephen Fulton at Ariake Arena, Tokyo, Tuesday night (25/7/2023). Fighting in front of the public himself, the boxer nicknamed The Monster won the eight round TKO. The referee was forced to stop the fight after seeing that Fulton was unable to respond to The Monster’s onslaught in the corner of the ring.

This victory also led Inoue to realize his ambition to become the best pound to pound boxer from Japan. His name is now listed as the second boxer from the Land of the Rising Sun who is able to win world titles in four different classes after Kazuto Ioka, in June 2019.

Before winning Fulton’s belt, Inoue is known to have completed his career with flyweight, super flyweight and bantamweight world titles. This victory also made Naoya Inoue’s record even more convincing, with 25-0 (22KO). Instead, the defeat against Inoue was the first in Fulton’s career. Now he packs 22-1 (8KO).

Fulton actually had to give resistance in the early matches. Even several times the boxer from the United States managed to land punches on The Monster’s face.

However, Inoue, who appears in a heavier class than usual, has excellent stamina. Entering the seventh round, the 27-year-old boxer began to dominate the duels through his hard punch combinations.

The nickname The Monster finally really shown Inoue in the seventh round. The combination of his deadly punches knocked Fulton to the ground. Starting from a jab to the stomach, Inoue then hooked Fulton’s face which looked open. These two punches immediately made Fulton giddy.
