Napoli Rises to Match Barcelona

Naples, Beritasatu.com- Hosts Napoli recovered to hold off guests Barcelona with a 1-1 draw in the first match of the last 16 of the Champions League, Thursday (22/2/2024). Left behind first, Napoli striker from Nigeria Victor Osimhen scored a goal as an equalizer.

Napoli and Barcelona were champions of the Italian League (Serie A) and champions of the Spanish League (La Liga) last year, who are both struggling this season. In this match, both of them performed poorly in the first half, before finally Polish striker Robert Lewandowski put Barca ahead in the 60th minute.

Osimhen equalized 15 minutes later with a spinning kick from inside the penalty box. With the score tied, the match legs second in Spain on March 12 will be decisive.

It is known that Napoli is starting its new chapter under new coach Francesco Calzona. Slovakia coach Calzona was in the technical area for the home side, following Walter Mazzarri's dismissal on Monday evening.
