Not Allowed at GBT, Persebaya is currently practicing at the Tambak Stadium

– The management of Persebaya Surabaya is grateful that there is no problem over the field lease polemic for Persebaya training. However, currently Persebaya is still waiting for permission to use the Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium from the PUPR Ministry.

Persebaya Surabaya manager Yahya Alkatiri said his party would maximize a number of fields in the city of Surabaya for training for Persebaya players. Moreover, according to him, Mayor of Surabaya Eri Cahyani gave full support to Persebaya.

“We will maximize it, especially since the mayor also fully supports Persebaya. God willing, we will make good use of the fields in the city of Surabaya,” said Yahya Alkatiri, Persebaya Surabaya Manager, Wednesday (10/5/2023).

Meanwhile for Persebaya Surabaya’s training which was originally carried out at the Thor Surabaya field, Persebaya Management confirmed that the training would be moved to the Tambak Sari Stadium in Surabaya as the first practice this season.

“The training which was originally carried out at the Thor Surabaya field, will be moved to the Tambaksari Stadium,” he added.

Previously, Surabaya Mayor Eri Cahyadi and Persebaya President Azrul Ananda planned to go to the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) office in Jakarta on Thursday (11/5/2023).

Both of them will face the PUPR Ministry as well as apply for a permit to use the Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium (GBT) for the Persebaya match.

The application for a permit to use the GBT Stadium for football matches must be made. This is because the stadium is still under the authority of the PUPR Ministry. Meanwhile, the contract between the Surabaya City Government (Pemkot) and the PUPR Ministry will only end on June 20, 2023.
