PSSI Reaches Agreement with Technical Director from Germany

Jakarta, Beritasatu.com – PSSI has reached an agreement to recruit a technical director from Germany. This was confirmed by the Chairman of PSSI, Erick Thohir.

“For the technical director, thank God an agreement has been reached, but it hasn’t been signed yet. As usual, negotiate. So if it’s possible one or two days or next week,” said Erick in a press conference in Jakarta, Thursday (20/7/2023).

Erick still hasn’t revealed the identity of the candidate for technical director. However, he revealed that the technical director will temporarily sign a four-month contract.

Regarding the reason for the technical director’s short-term contract, Erick explained that PSSI wanted to monitor its performance first.

“His job is to accompany the national team for 4 months. The agreement is only 4 months because we both want to try first,” said the former president of Inter Milan.

According to Erick, the role of the PSSI technical director is very important, especially in shaping the character of Indonesian football.

“Because the technical director’s work in the future is not only synchronizing programs, but most importantly creating a culture of Indonesian football. Because if we look at the top 20 countries where soccer has its own pattern of play. Now this is what we have to be able to find, but it’s not easy because it takes a long time,” explained Erick.
