Ronaldo Reportedly Wants to Leave Al Nassr Immediately, Why?

– Al-Nassr captain, Cristiano Ronaldo, reportedly wants to leave the Saudi Arabian club. Yet the Portuguese star is only months after signing a €200m (£175m) contract.

A report from El Nacional stated that Ronaldo wanted to quickly leave the Saudi giant club, because he found it difficult to adapt to life in Saudi Arabia.

The report adds that the language barrier has also proved to be a stumbling block for the former Real Madrid man. Ronaldo is reportedly eager to return to the Spanish capital with his partner Georgina Rodriguez.

Ronaldo apparently begged Real Madrid president Florentino Perez to bring him back to the Bernabeu for a second spell at the club. But Perez refused his request, and so did Coach Carlo Ancelotti. Although Real Madrid are not ready to welcome Ronaldo back in a playing capacity, Perez will reportedly be happy to employ the forward as a club ambassador or within the club’s sporting organisation.

This surprising career change put Ronaldo’s career on the edge. He was on the cusp of hanging up his boots. But last year the 38-year-old player made it clear that he still wanted to play at Euro 2024.

This suggests that he is not thinking of retiring any time soon.

Nine glittering years at Real Madrid saw Ronaldo win a total of 16 major honors between 2009 and 2018, including five Champions League titles, three Club World Cups and two La Liga crowns.

The former Juventus forward remains the top scorer Los Blancos all-time record with 450 goals in 438 appearances, 98 more than his closest rival, Karim Benzema.

He then returned to his old club, Manchester United. Unfortunately, his performance did not meet expectations and his relationship was not harmonious with coach Erik ten Hag forced him to leave sooner. The trigger was his controversial interview with Piers Morgan who criticized the club’s structure and admitted he disrespected Erik ten Hag.

Ronaldo’s contract was terminated by mutual consent before the World Cup in Qatar. Ronaldo initially hoped to continue playing in Europe due to his desire to win the Champions League again, however there were no offers from the continent, despite links with Chelsea and Sporting Lisbon.

As a result, the 38-year-old was lured to Saudi Arabia on a big deal, signed a three-year contract with Al-Nassr and was immediately given the captain’s armband. Ronaldo has contributed 12 goals and two assists in 15 appearances during a brisk start to the Saudi Pro League, although Al-Nassr are three points behind Al-Ittihad in the standings having played one game more.
