2024 Thomas and Uber Cup Schedule and Results, Saturday 4 May: Who Qualifies for the Final?

Liputan6.com, Jakarta – The 2024 Thomas and Uber Cup entered the semifinals at the Hi-Tech Zone Sports Center Gymnasium, Chengdu, Saturday (4/5/2024). The four best teams in each category fought each other for the final ticket.

The trio of East Asian giants, namely China, Japan and South Korea, had no difficulty reaching the semifinals of the 2024 Uber Cup. They were accompanied by Indonesia, which reached the last four for the first time in 14 years.

After improving their meeting record by beating Thailand 3-0 in the quarter-finals, Gregoria Mariska Tunjung and her friends now hope to continue the surprise when they meet South Korea.

“Thank you to the athletes, coaches and support team. Highest appreciation, but the job is not finished yet. There is still the semifinal round against Korea,” said Indonesian team manager Ricky Soebagja.

“Now focus on recovery. I hope that those who played (in the top 8) can recover quickly, then be ready to be deployed again,” continued Ricky.

Indonesia also sent representatives to the semifinals of the 2024 Thomas Cup. Merah Putih maintains the opportunity to add to their collection of 14 titles after beating South Korea 3-1 in the round of 8.

The Indonesian men's team then met Chinese Taipei, which surprised second seed Denmark.
