It was stated that currently the central government together with the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) are preparing stadiums that have the potential to become venues U-17 World Cup.

Menpora Dito also said that the government will now carry out renovations of 22 stadiums to support the development of Indonesian sports in the future.

“Certainly our government is now preparing all the stadiums that have the potential to become venues for the U-17 World Cup. The government is also preparing 22 existing stadiums in Indonesia so that in the future they can be optimally used,” he said.

He also confirmed that currently the stadium being reviewed is not only the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) but also several stadiums that have the potential to become venues stadium for the FIFA U-17 World Cup.

“Currently the stadiums that meet FIFA standards are Gelora Bung Karno Stadium (GBK), Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium (GBT), Manahan Stadium, Jakabaring Stadium, and I Wayan Dipta Stadium. JIS Stadium is an option (venues FIFA World Cup U-17) but there are still some records but they meet (FIFA) standards as well,” explained Menpora Dito.

The Menpora also explained that he would inspect the JIS stadium next week with PSSI, DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, Jakpro and others.

The U-17 World Cup is scheduled to be held from November 10 to December 2. Regarding usage venues or stadiums, until now FIFA still has not checked.

The Gelora Bung Karno Stadium has a small possibility of holding the opening of the U-17 World Cup due to a conflict with the band Coldplay’s concert agenda, which previously obtained permission and will be held on November 15.
