Returning from the Korean Volleyball League, Megawati leaves Jakarta Pertamina

Jakarta, Beritasatu.com – After defending Red Sparks in the Korean Volleyball League, Megawati Hangesti Pertiwi will leave Jakarta Pertamina Energi for the 2024 Proliga volleyball competition.

“It is certain that Megawati will no longer be with us in the 2024 Proliga. He is a great player, and has been with us since 2015, and has only played for another team once. “We remain optimistic about the 2024 Proliga even without Megawati,” said Jakarta Pertamina Energy manager, Widi Triyoso to Beritasatu.com, Saturday (16/3/2024).

Megawati Hangestri once defended Jakarta Popsivo Policewomen in 2018. After that, he returned to Jakarta Pertamina until the 2023 Proliga. Megawati's contract with Red Sparks ends with the end of the Korean Volleyball League in mid-April.

To replace Megawati Hangestri, Jakarta Pertamina has recruited another strong player, Hany Budiarti. Hany is a player for the Indonesian Air Force club. This player from Kediri, 178 cm tall, is also a member of the Indonesian Air Force. Both players are specialist opposite hitters.

According to Widi, Jakarta Pertamina in the 2024 Proliga will be strengthened by several Indonesian Air Force players. They were trained by the famous trainer Eko Waluyo. Last season Eko also defended Pertamina. “Regarding foreign players, just wait until the team launch, we can't write about it now,” said Widi.

According to Widi, new foreign players will arrive next April. The 2024 Proliga volleyball competition will start on April 25. The first series will be held in Yogyakarta.
