Score One Goal Against West Ham, Haaland Breaks a Record

– Manchester City striker, Erling Haaland, made a record when his team won a landslide victory, 3-0, against West Ham United, Thursday (5/4/2023) early morning WIB.

The Norwegian striker made himself the player with the most goals scored in one season in the Premier League. With his goal against West Ham, this 22-year-old means he has scored 35 goals this season. Haaland toppled the record previously held by Andy Cole and Alan Shearer.

He still has the possibility of sharpening his record because Man City will play in five more matches in the Premier League competition this season.

“This is really a special night. This is a special moment. I am very happy and proud. There is nothing more to say,” the former Borussia Dortmund striker told Man City’s official website, Thursday.

The other two goals scored by Man City were scored by Nathan Ake and Phil Foden. Thanks to this victory, Man City again displacing Arsenal from the top of the standings. Pep Guardiola’s troops have now collected 79 points or are one point ahead of Mikel Arteta’s team.

Haaland is already thinking about the match against Leeds on Saturday (6/5). “I’m going to sleep after this game, I wake up tomorrow and think I can get three points against Leeds. We can’t keep thinking about these records or I will go crazy,” said Haaland.

The player who has also defended Red Bull Salzburg accepted guard of honor from his team-mates at Man City after having performed fantastically this season by breaking various records with a total of 51 goals in all competitions.

“It feels so good to get guard of honoras it is with every goal I score,” said the Leeds-born player again.

Of the 45 matches that Haaland has played in all competitions, he scored 35 goals in the Premier League, 12 goals in the Champions League, three goals in the FA Cup and one goal in the Carabao Cup.

Haaland made this incision in his first season with Man City after being bought by Borussia Dortmund for £51.2 million or the equivalent of Rp.956 trillion.
