Shotaro and Sungchan leave NCT, SM Entertainment will create a new group

In a separate statement, SM also revealed some of their plans for the remainder of 2023. For the new NCT team, two SM Rookies will be joining it, and their identities will be announced soon. Shohei, who was once revealed to be part of SM Rookies, did not join the team due to health reasons.

Meanwhile, Sungchan and Shotaro will debut with SM Rookies Eunseok and Seunghan. Their group will also be enlivened by other members who are citizens of Korea and the United States.

Finally, SM Entertainment also plans to debut a new girl group in the fourth quarter of 2023.
