The popularity of Threads from Instagram actually fluctuates when compared to X.

After being introduced to the public in 2023, Threads has seen an increase in the number of downloads.

However, various Meta strategies to increase the popularity of Threads, such as displaying them on timeline Facebook and Instagram, causing the number of downloads of these applications to tend to fluctuate.

However, over time, based on data from Appfigures, Threads download numbers are again competitive with X installs, especially on iOS.

Towards the end of last year, there was a shift in trend. In late December, Threads began to see downloads increase to more than half a million downloads per day on Google Play and the Play Store.

Although the number of downloads on iOS decreased slightly in January 2024, Threads consistently exceeded X in the number of daily downloads in both smartphone platforms.

Data report from Appfigures, as quoted GizChinashows that as of February 25, 2024, Threads had 486,803 installs on Google Play and 342,228 on iOS.

In contrast, X had 225,408 downloads on Google Play and 112,625 on iOS in the same period.

The data indicates that Threads saw nearly three times as many downloads on iOS and more than twice as many downloads on Google Play compared to X.
