On the other hand, Elon Musk's satellite-based internet service, Starlink, is said to be present in IKN (Capital City of the Archipelago).

This was stated recently by the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan. Luhut is known to have spoken with Elon Musk regarding investment in the Starlink internet network.

Spokesperson for the Indonesian Capital Authority (IKN) Troy Pantouw explained that so far there has been no further discussion regarding Elon Musk's investment interest through the Starlink company at IKN.

“There is no information yet, there has been no detailed discussion about this,” said Troy to media crew at the Shangri-La Hotel, Central Jakarta, Monday (26/2/2024).

Troy emphasized that the IKN Authority has also not received a Letter of Intent (LOI) from Elon Musk regarding his interest in investing in IKN.

It is known that LOI is a written document that describes the intention or initial agreement between two interested parties in carrying out a business transaction or agreement.

For your information, the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, has made contact with Elon Musk to install internet at IKN via SpaceX's network.

“I'm with Elon Musk, when did I call? Friday, last Friday. Starlink wants to come in. I think the requirements are almost finished, he's going to IKN,” said Luhut in his office, Jakarta, Wednesday (7/2/2024).

Luhut said that Elon Musk and his internet network would come to IKN after receiving permission from the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kemenkominfo).
