U-23 National Team Captain Happy with Nathan Tjoe-A-On's Return

Jakarta, Beritasatu.com – Captain Rizky Ridho is happy with Nathan Tjoe-A-On's return to the Indonesian U-23 National Team ahead of the 2024 U-23 Asian Cup quarter-final match against South Korea.

Nathan Tjoe-A-On was asked to return home to strengthen his club Heerenven after playing three group stage matches in the U-23 Asian Cup. However, he was then able to return to strengthen the U-23 national team after PSSI and General Chairman Erick Thohir lobbied the Dutch club.

“Of course everyone is happy with the news from Nathan. He sent a message through our group, he said see you tomorrow, guys. All friends responded with smiles, kindness and joy. “Of course that is very good for the strength of our team,” said Rizky, Wednesday (24/4/2024).

When Indonesia won 4-1 over Jordan in the final match of Group A, Rizky Ridho recorded a sweet assist which resulted in Witan Sulaeman's goal. Regarding his goal, Rizky Ridho said he received a lot of input from coach Shin Tae-yong regarding the role and function of modern central defenders.

“Of course there was a lesson when I played before when I finished passing, I stopped, didn't help attack. He (Shin) was angry with me and I evaluated it. “Yesterday he tried me after passing and I moved forward and thank God it was resolved,” said Rizky.

If it is able to overcome South Korea's resistance, Indonesia will be closer to getting a ticket to the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Rizky believes that now he and his teammates have big dreams of competing in the number one multi-sport event in the world.

The match against South Korea in the quarter-finals of the U-23 Asian Cup, he said, was a big match.

“If we win, we are 50 percent for the Olympics. Of course we will all work hard for tomorrow's match. We are all not satisfied with just making it to the quarter-finals and we will focus on getting to the Olympics. “That is the target of all of us,” said Persija Jakarta.

The Indonesian national team will challenge South Korea at the Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium, Doha, local Thursday or early Friday WIB.
