Named the “Tech Accord to Combat Deceptive Use of AI in 2024 Elections,” the pact covers companies that create and distribute AI models.

Not only that, there are also social media platforms where the possibilities are great deepfakes popping up a lot.

In addition to Google, Meta, OpenAI, companies such as Adobe, Amazon, Anthropic, Arm, ElevenLabs, IBM, Inflection AI, LinkedIn, McAfee, Microsoft, Nota, Snap Inc., Stability AI, TikTok, Trend Micro, Truepic and X (formerly Twitter ) also signed this pact.

Deepfakes is a technology capable of manipulating video and audio to imitate a person's face and voice, and it is feared it could be used to spread false information, and damage the reputation of political candidates.

This agreement applies to audio, video and images produced by various AI tools, whether made by OpenAI, Google or other technology companies.
