WhatsApp Presents Categorization Feature on Channels, Finding Content Will Be Easier

Not only limiting spam behavior, WhatsApp announced new features in the Community services in its application. This feature update allows users to manage events on WhatsApp.

In an official statement received, Thursday (2/5/2024), it will now be easier for users to plan their meetings directly on WhatsApp via Community. This feature helps users to prepare virtual meetings or birthday dinners.

“Everyone can create an event and others can respond to it so that all group members know what events are coming up,” WhatsApp wrote in a statement.

Not only that, guests can also find events on the group information page, as well as get automatic notifications when the event gets closer. Initially, this feature will be available in groups that are part of the WhatsApp Community first, then rolled out to all groups.

WhatsApp also brings replies to Announcement Groups. So, admins can listen to input from members while making the group an easy place to find out information in the Community.

Later, replies will be grouped together and minimized, so users can see what other people are saying in context. Not only that, notifications will be muted for everyone.

“Over the next few months, we will continue to roll out new features to Communities and groups so that people have more features to keep their lives organized on WhatsApp,” the chat application wrote in closing its statement.
