WhatsApp Trials Encryption Label in Chat Column, Signs Conversation is Protected

However, from WABetaInfo's latest report, the chat application plans to display an end-to-end encryption label in the conversation column. This is known from testing the latest WhatsApp beta feature.

Quoting information from Android PoliceTuesday (12/3/2024), on WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.24.3.17, the application will display an indicator that the conversation has been protected by encryption.

The indicator will display the words 'end-to-end encrypted' accompanied by a padlock icon. This indicator can be seen at the bottom of another user's account name.

It is stated that this information will not always appear and will only appear occasionally.

You could say this change is not very significant, because it is only an indicator that explains conversations in the application chat Meta's property is protected.

However, indicators like this seem to confirm that the chat application is protected by encryption.

On the other hand, WhatsApp announced that it has brought a built-in sticker editor for Android users. Previously, this feature was already available for iOS users.
