6 Indonesian representatives qualify for the top 16 of the 2023 Korea Open

Yeonsu, Beritasatu.com – Six Indonesian representatives have qualified for the last 16 of the Korea Open 2023. The six representatives are two mixed doubles, two men’s doubles and two women’s singles.

In the mixed doubles there are partners Dejan Ferdinansyah/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja and Praveen Jordan/Melati Daeva Oktavianti.

Dejan/Gloria won a bit faster because their opponents Yang Po-Hsuan/Hua Ling Fang could not continue the match when the score was 21-10, 20-17. Meanwhile, Praveen/Melati escaped after their opponents Hee Yong Kai Terry/Tan Wei Han Jessica walkover.

The two men’s doubles who passed were Pramudya Kusumawardana/Yeremia Erich Yoche Rambitan and Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto. Pramudya/Yeremia won over Jeppe Bay/Lasse Molhede 21-18, 21-16, Tuesday (18/7/2023) yesterday. Meanwhile Fajar/Rian ran smoothly after their opponent. Ko Sung Hyun/Shin Baek Cheol could not continue the match due to injury when the score was 1-1.

“Thank God, we made it to the round of 16. On the positive side, we can save energy for tomorrow, but on the other hand, we can’t adapt much to the field of play,” said Fajar.

Meanwhile, Princess Kusuma Wardani and Gregoria Mariska became the women’s singles representatives who passed. Putri KW defeated Goh Jin Wei in three games, 21-18, 14-21, 21-19. Gregoria was also forced to work hard to play three games when she beat Clara Azurmendi 16-21, 21-15, 21-19.

The only Indonesian representative who ran aground in today’s match was Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo who was defeated by Koki Watanabe 21-19, 19-21, 11-21.
