60-year-old Argentine model could compete for Miss Universe – Cidades na Net

Argentine Alejandra Rodriguez, 60 years old, was the winner of Miss Universe in the province of Buenos Aires on Sunday, 21. The model will go on to the national competition and, if she wins, she could be the country's representative in the international Miss Universe.

Alejandra is a lawyer and journalist, resident of the city of La Plata. She was a newcomer to the regional competition, the first time the competition took place without an age limit.

“I had never signed up. Now this opportunity has arisen and it seemed like a challenge, a very interesting proposal”, he told the TN channel last Tuesday. “Beauty is not just the physical. It has to do with the attitude towards life, which goes beyond aesthetics. Therefore, I think the competition came to break these stereotypes, and that is what is giving it so much visibility.”

In the next stage, which will take place on May 25th in Buenos Aires, Alejandra Rodriguez will compete with 27 other Argentine finalists.

The winner will compete in the international edition of Miss Universe.

“It was a very thoughtful decision,” she said. “But thanks to the director of Miss Universe Buenos Aires, I decided to sign up at age 60.”
