SEA Games Medal Standings: Add 6 Gold, Indonesia Stuck in Fourth Position

– Indonesia is still stuck in fourth place in the SEA Games medal collection standings after adding six gold medals, Thursday (11/5/2023).

The six gold medals were won from bicycle racing and wushu through Muhammad Daffa Golden Boy who appeared in the men’s jianshu and qiangshu combined numbers. Gold was also won in the men’s team number badminton. Christian Adinata and friends became the best after conquering Malaysia, 3-1.

Female esport athlete Vivi Indrawaty and friends also donated gold for the women’s Mobile Legends: Bang Bang number. The gold medal was also donated by young swimmer Felix Viktor Iberle. This 17-year-old swimmer won gold after winning the men’s 50 meter breaststroke. In the preliminary round Felix also broke the SEA Games record in the men’s 50 meter breaststroke.

The gold medal was also donated by Rikki Marthin in the 10,000 meter dash. This is a sweet note for an athlete whose full name is Rikki Martin Luther Simbolon because this is his debut at the SEA Games.

However, this additional gold has not improved Indonesia’s position in the medal standings. The Red and White contingent has not moved from fourth place with 42 gold, 34 silver and 58 bronze medals.

Indonesia is at odds of 12 gold with Thailand which is exactly one level above it. The Land of War Elephants sits in third place with a collection of 54 gold, 39 silver and 58 bronze.

Competition in the top three medal standings is increasingly fierce. The top position is still occupied by Vietnam with 58 gold, 57 silver and 71 bronze medals. They are only two gold ahead of hosts Cambodia who have won 56 gold, 44 silver and 55 bronze. Thailand is in third place with 54 gold, 39 silver and 58 bronze.
