The film ‘The Kerala Story’ was released at the box office on 5 May. The film earned 35.49 crores in the first weekend. After crossing the 150 crore mark on 16th May the film is now all set to join the 200 crore club. ‘The Kerala Story’ has done a total business of 198.47 crores in 17 days. According to the figures so far, the film can comfortably enter the 200 crore club on Monday.
In the third weekend after release, ‘The Kerala Story’ collected 6.60 crores on Friday 19th May, 9.15 crores on Saturday 20th May and 11.50 crores on Sunday 21st May taking the total collection to 198.97 crores. It stars Adah Sharma, Yogita Bihani, Sonia Balani and Siddhi Idnani in pivotal roles.
‘The Kerala Story’ directed by Sudipto Sen was banned in many states, yet the film seems to be earning crores at the box office. The makers of the film claimed that the entire film is based on the story of how Hindu and Christian girls are lured into love-jihad and converted. Because of this, a nationwide controversy started on the film, while some even praised the film. The film has benefited well from all these controversies and ‘The Kerala Story’ became the fourth film to gross 100 crores in 2023 among the films released so far. It is clear from the box office collection so far that this film will soon join the 200 crore club.
