After being the best at Livoli, Gresik Petrokimia aims to win the 2024 Proliga

Gresik, Beritasatu.com – After winning the 2023 Livoli Premier Division title, Gresik Petrokimia Pupuk Indonesia is aiming for the 2024 Proliga title.

Petrokimia has been strengthened by two foreign players in the 2024 Proliga. The two foreign players, namely Bogdana Anisova from Ukraine who plays outside hitter and Polina Rahimova from Azerbaijan plays opposite hitter. Bogdana in the 2023 season also became Petrokimia's mainstay.

The two foreign players were introduced together with the coach and all the players on Wednesday (17/4/2024). In the 2024 Proliga competition, Petrokimia Gresik is mostly home to self-developed young players.

“In the 2024 Proliga, Petrokimia Gresik fielded young players. The youngest is 13 years old. “Seniors are Mediola and two foreign players,” said Petrokimia coach Pedro Lilipaly.

The coach who successfully led Petrokimia Gresik to win the Livoli Premier Division in 2023 said that, even though they are young, they have good potential.

“They are players from our training, nursery at the Petrokimia volleyball club. They were also the ones who led to the championship in the 2024 Nusantara Cup. “So we are very optimistic that we can reach the final four of the 2024 Proliga,” explained Pedro.

The presence of Mediol Stiovanny Yoku, a senior player who is also a member of the Indonesian National Team, as well as Aulia Suci Nurfadila and Shintia Alliva Maulidina, is a particular strength for the team.

“The experience of these three players is very important for us. “Moreover, Mediol's experience in national and international volleyball events, he is a senior player, of course he will be able to lead his juniors,” explained Pedro.
