Against Persebaya at GBT, Rahmad Asks the Barito Putera Troops to Prepare Mentally

– Rahmad Darmawan asked the Barito Putera players to prepare mentally against Persebaya Surabaya in the second week of League 1 on Saturday (8/7/2023) at the Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium, Surabaya.

As quoted by the official website of the Indonesian League, the coach who is familiarly called RD revealed that the mental aspect needs to be well prepared because Rizky Pora and his colleagues will be playing in front of the many fanatical Persebaya Surabaya supporters.

“Persebaya will appear in front of their very fanatical supporters. This will certainly affect the motivation and enthusiasm of the Persebaya players themselves. Therefore, it takes not only quality, but also mentality. I hope the players are mentally ready,” said RD.

Regarding technical preparations, the coach who previously coached Rans Nusantara FC revealed that the Barito Putera team had recovered after facing Persita Tangerang last weekend.

Apart from that, RD also tried several other players who had not played before, including Makan Konate, who had not been able to play because the registration process had not been completed.

“There is one requirement in the incomplete registration for Konate, so he cannot play in the first match at the moment,” explained RD.

“Yesterday when he came, there was a series of national holidays so all government offices and immigration were closed,” he added.

RD, who was born in Lampung, also mentioned that he is still unable to play striker Eksel Runtukahu because he is still recovering from surgery on his big toe.

“Eksel had an infection at the tip of his thumb, so he underwent surgery yesterday. He needs time to recover because he can only wear sandals at this time,” he concluded.
