AJC 2023: Appearing 2 times in a day, Zidane/Kleopas win semifinal tickets

– Zidane Attauba Efendi/Kleopas Binar Putra Prakoso’s men’s doubles continued to progress in the 2023 BNI Badminton Asia Junior Championships tournament. The host representatives advanced to the semifinals after defeating the Malaysian men’s doubles, Bryant Jeremy Gooting/Low Han Chen with a score of 18-21, 21- 14, 21-16.

This is Zidane/Kleopas’ second appearance on Friday (14/7/2023). Previously, on the same day, they confirmed a ticket to the quarter-finals after eliminating the United Arab Emirates pair.

In the match that took place at the Amongraga Sports Hall, Yogyakarta, Friday (14/7/2023) evening, Zidane/Kleopas admitted that he was tense when he made many unforced errors. Luckily the opponent from the neighboring country also made many unforced errors so that it was profitable for Zidane/Kleopas.

“I was nervous about today’s match because I made a lot of unforced errors. Luckily the opponent also made many mistakes so we can be confident and play even more calmly, “said Zidane.

With this win, Zidane/Kleopas will meet the winner of the match between Chen Yong Rui/Hu Ke Yuan (China) and Kenta Matsukawa/Yuto Nakashizu (Japan).

Facing the last four, Zidane/Kleopas don’t want to let their guard down. They will focus on being able to go far in Badminton AJC 2023.

“We don’t want excessive euphoria. There’s still a semi-final tomorrow. Now we want to focus on recovery first. Of course, we don’t want to just settle here,” Kleopas said.

“To face each other in the semifinals this time, you can’t let your guard down and go blank so you make your own mistakes,” concluded Kleopas.

Zidane/Kleopas really had to fight hard on Friday (14/7/2023) because they appeared twice a day. Previously, they confirmed tickets to the quarter-finals after defeating the United Arab Emirates pair, Dev Ayyappan / Dhiren Ayyappan with a score of 21-19, 21-13.
