– For futsal lovers, do you already know the history of futsal? If not, see the brief explanation below.
Futsal is one of the most popular sports around the world. Children to adults play this sport. Futsal is similar to soccer. The difference is the number of players and the size of the field.
This sport has an interesting history. Come on, see the history of futsal below.
History of Futsal
Futsal originated in South America in the 1930s, to be precise from Montevideo, Uruguay. At that time a soccer coach named Juan Carlos Ceriani wanted to train soccer but because of heavy rain the field that was supposed to be a training ground could not be used.
Ceriani then looked for ideas so he could keep practicing. He also moved his practice into the room, which incidentally is a smaller place than the original field. Because the place is in the room, the players must be reduced to five people so that each team can compete.
Since then the initial concept of futsal was formed. This concept then spread and became popular in America and Europe. Over time, the popularity of this sport increased, until FIFUSA (The Federation Internationale de Futebol de Salao) was finally formed in 1974 in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
This sport spread all over the world in the 80s. In 1989, the International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) officially recognized futsal as an official sport and formed the World Futsal Association (AMF). Since then, futsal has become increasingly popular around the world and many countries have their own futsal leagues and competitions.
Futsal Game Rules
Futsal is a soccer game played indoors with teams of five players on each side of the field. As with other sports, there are rules that must be obeyed by all players in order to maintain the smoothness and safety of the game.
What are the rules in futsal? The following are some of the main rules in the game of futsal:
1. Number of Players
Each team consists of five players, including one goalkeeper. There are no limited substitutes.
2. Field
The futsal field is smaller than a traditional football field. Usually a futsal field is about 38-42 meters long and about 20-25 meters wide.
