New Delhi: The incident of two women being paraded naked on the road and gang-raped in Manipur has shaken the entire country. This incident took place on May 4 in Kangpokpi district, 35 km from Imphal, the capital of Manipur. The video of this incident surfaced on social media on Wednesday evening and since then anger is coming out from all sides. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also called this incident a shameful incident for the country. Now the displeasure and anger of Bollywood stars have also come to the fore on this incident. Stars like Akshay Kumar, Ritesh Deshmukh have also given their reaction on this.
The Indigenous Tribal Leaders Forum (ITLF) has alleged that the two women were gang-raped in a field. Both these women are from the Kuki tribe. Police have registered a case of kidnapping, gangrape and murder against unknown people. After this video surfaced, actor Akshay Kumar tweeted, ‘The country is shaken with hatred and anger at the video of violence against women in Manipur. I hope that these accused get such punishment that in future no one would even dare to think of carrying out such heinous act.
On the other hand, actor Ritesh Deshmukh also expressed his anger on social media and wrote, ‘I am shocked to see the video of the incident that happened in Manipur with women. I am full of anger. No man who commits such a crime should be spared. Attacking the honor of women is like attacking humanity.
At the same time, Bollywood actor Ashutosh Rana has also given his reaction on this whole matter. He wrote in his tweet, ‘History is a witness that whenever any intruder has abducted or ripped apart a woman, the entire human race has to pay the price for it. Just as truth, penance, purity and charity are the four stages of ‘religion’, similarly ‘democracy’ also has four stages in the form of legislature, executive, judiciary and journalism. These four pillars of democracy will have to move in harmony with each other only then they will be able to free the people from the heat of holocaust of inhuman acts. Now the time has come when all the political parties and politicians, media houses and media personnel will have to forget their differences of opinion, blame and counter-accusations on each other and make a collective venture for the welfare of the nation, because this nation belongs to all, all parties and political parties are committed to protect, nurture and enrich the country and countrymen. We should remember- exploitation of women, atrocities done on her, her suppression, her humiliation.. is like a stigma not on half of humanity but on the whole of humanity.’
Quoting government sources, ANI has informed that the government has ordered social media platforms like Facebook-Twitter not to share this video. At the same time, the central government can take action against Twitter for this video.
