Al Shabab vs Al-Nassr Result 2-3, Cristiano Ronaldo's Indecent Gestures Potentially Sanctioned

Jakarta, Beritasatu.com – Cristiano Ronaldo (39) received attention after allegedly making obscene movements after the Al Shabab match against Al-Nassr which ended 2-3 in the 2023/2024 Saudi Pro League, Sunday (25/2/2024) evening local time or Monday (26 /2/2024) early morning WIB.

The Portuguese soccer superstar opened the scoring with a penalty in the 21st minute. Al Shabab equalized through a penalty from former Atletico Madrid player Yannick Carrasco on injury time first round.

Brazilian player Talisca restored the lead for the Najd Knights, nicknamed Al-Nassr, a minute into the second half. Carlos equalized again for Al Shabab, until finally Talisca scored the winning goal in the 86th minute.

After the final whistle, videos on social media captured Ronaldo raising his hands to his ears, before repeatedly moving his hands in front of his pelvic area. This action appears to be aimed at supporters of rival Al Shabab.

There were shouts of “Messi” from Al Shabab supporters, referring to Ronaldo's rival from Argentina, Lionel Messi.

Some Saudi football experts say Ronaldo should be sanctioned. Saudi newspaper Asharq al-Awsat reported that the national football federation (SAFF) had opened an investigation into this incident.

“The disciplinary committee is facing the biggest test. We will see,” said Waleed Al Farraj, a Saudi writer and television host on the social media platform X.

“Everything has its limits, no matter how famous you are. That's how high-level football is,” he added.

Al-Nassr has not yet provided an official comment. Previously, Ronaldo had faced similar criticism. In April 2023, CR7 apparently grabbed his genitals while heading to the bench after a league match against Al Hilal, which Al-Nassr won 2-0.

Earlier this month, he picked up an Al Hilal scarf thrown at him from the stands, tucked it into his trousers, and then threw it as he walked towards the tunnel after Al-Nassr lost 2-0 in the Riyadh Season Cup final.

Ronaldo, who joined Al-Nassr on a free transfer at the end of 2022, leads the list of Saudi league top scorers with 22 goals in 20 appearances this season. Al-Nassr is in second place with 52 points, four points behind Al Hilal who have one game in hand.
