Apple Almost Completes Deal with OpenAI, Brings ChatGPT to iPhone via iOS 18!

Liputan6.com, Jakarta – Apple's plan to bring AI chatbot ChatGPT to the iPhone via the iOS 18 update looks like it will become a reality with the help of OpenAI.

Yes, Apple and OpenAI are currently reportedly holding intense talks to bring AI chatbot technology to their products.

Information about this collaboration with OpenAI was strengthened by a report by Bloomberg correspondent, Mark Gurman. “Apple is finalizing a deal with OpenAI,” the report quoted Bloomberg via PhoneArena, Sunday (12/5/2024).

Mark Gurman said, “Apple and OpenAI talks about several generative AI features–such as chatbots–will be introduced alongside iOS 18 this year.”

Unfortunately, what these features are is not yet known. However, based on information currently circulating, certain iOS 18 applications will be integrated with AI.

Some of these applications include Safari and Messages. It is possible that the default iOS application will be equipped with an AI feature that can summarize content on the screen just using keywords.

Apart from that, this Cupertino-based company also wants to majorly overhaul their virtual assistant, namely Siri. It is stated that Siri will appear smarter thanks to this AI technology.

At the same time, OpenAI is believed to be working on their own digital assistant and it is unknown whether this is related to the development of Siri or not.

Apart from OpenAI, the technology giant is also said to be still in talks with Google about bringing Gemini's generative AI features to the iPhone.

So far, there have been no further reports regarding this Apple and Google collaboration. Of course, there will be more information about Apple's plans with AI on June 10 at WWDC 2024.
