Barito Putera vs Persib results ended in a draw

Bantul Beritasatu.com – Persib Bandung failed to maintain their lead and only achieved a 1-1 draw when they met hosts Barito Putera in the continuation of the League 1 competition at the Sultan Agung Stadium, Bantul, DI Yogyakarta, Friday (23/2/2024).

Persib took the lead over the team from South Kalimantan thanks to a goal scored by David da Silva when the match had just entered the 11th minute. However, the hosts managed to equalize through Yuswanto Aditya's header.

This draw means Persib is still in third place after Borneo FC and PSIS with 42 points from 25 matches. Meanwhile, Barito Putera is in seventh position with 34 points.

Playing at home to the opponent, Persib coach Bojan Todak adopted a 4-3-3 formation. He fielded the trio of Ciro Alves, David da Silva and Becham Putra in the front row.

These three players are supported by a middle row filled with players from Italy Stefano Beltrame, Marc Klok, and Dedi Kusnandar. This coach from Croatia entrusted his back line to Henhen Herdiana, Nick Kuipers, Alberto Rodriguez and Rezaldi Hehanusa. They guarded Filipino goalkeeper Kevin Ray Mendoza.

Meanwhile in the Barito camp, coach Rahmad Darmawan played a 4-3-3 formation. He featured the Mendes trio. Gustavo Ticantins, and Rizky Pora.

Persib carried out an attacking game from the start. Several times the team coached by Bojan Todak managed to break through the opponent's defense. Persib took a 1-0 lead in the 11th minute thanks to David da Silva's action.

After receiving a pass from Marc Klok, the Brazilian player managed to penetrate the defense and then fired a right-footed shot into the corner of the goal. His shot hit the far post but then missed Barito's goal. Persib's lead lasted until the first half ended.

Before the second half had lasted a minute, Persib created another chance. Ciro Alves got a golden opportunity after receiving a push from Beckham Putra. However, the Brazilian player's shot was blocked by the opposing defender and failed to produce a goal.

Only a few moments later it was Barito Putera's turn to create a chance. Unfortunately, their opportunity was quickly seized by the Persib defenders who immediately cleared the defense.

In the 51st minute, Barito had the opportunity to break through Persib's goal. Striker Gustavo Tocantins tried to reach the ball from Rizky Pora into the goal mouth. However, the Brazilian striker failed to use the ball.

In the 68th minute, a violation occurred after two Persib defenders, Nick Kuipers and Alberto Rodriguez, were seen bringing down Gustavo Tocantins when he was about to enter the penalty area after receiving a pass from Murillo Mendes.

After the violation occurred, the referee then issued a red card to Alberto Rodriguez even though it was Kuipers who came into contact with Tocantins. Persib had to play with 10 people from the 70th minute.

Barito received a free kick from outside the penalty box as a result of this incident. However, Murillo Mendes' kick deviated from the target.

In the 80th minute, Persib again endangered Barito's goal. Using a pass, David da Silva managed to penetrate the opponent's penalty box. However, the former Persebaya player's shot deviated from Barito's goal.

Barito managed to equalize in the 90th minute through Yuswanto Aditya's action. The player who replaced Murillo Mendes in the 87th minute scored a goal just three minutes after setting foot on the pitch.

He came from behind and headed Ferdiansyah's corner kick. His header failed to be blocked by the goalkeeper and went into Persib's goal. The 1-1 draw lasted until the match was over.
