Bitcoin Halving Often Increases Prices, Will It Happen This Year?

Information, when the first halving occurred in 2012, Bitcoin was valued at USD 12. After the first halving event, the price of BTC soared to around USD 1,000 at the end of 2013.

Then, the second halving occurred on July 9 2016 where bitcoin was priced at around USD 640. Then, in July 2017, the price of Bitcoin rose to the level of USD 2,550.

Furthermore, the third halving occurred on May 11 2020, where Bitcoin was exchanged at the USD 8,750 level. One year later, the price of Bitcoin soared to USD 62,000.

“Apart from price fluctuations, halving has no impact whatsoever on the amount and nature of Bitcoin you own. Halving only impacts the rewards Bitcoin miners will receive,” explained Aditya.

At the first halving in 2012, there were only 43,000 Bitcoin addresses. At the second halving in 2016, there were seven million addresses and now there are more than 46 million Bitcoin addresses containing more than US$1 in them.
