Justice Minister Flavio Dino has finally announced an investigation following decisions by several top Brazilian clubs to suspend several players as part of a state inquiry.

“Brazilian federal police will open an investigation due to evidence of match-fixing in a sporting event, with interstate and international repercussions,” Dino said in a statement on Twitter.

Earlier, Athletico said on its social media channels that 20-year-old left-back Pedrinho and 22-year-old midfielder Bryan Garcia had been suspended until the end of an investigation by prosecutors in Goias state.

Likewise, clubs Cruzeiro, Fluminense and America made the same decision on midfielder Richard (29), defender Vitor Mendes (23) and right-back Nino Paraiba (37 years).
