Charles Leclerc Very Disappointed with Ferrari's Performance at the Bahrain GP

Jakarta, Beritasatu.com – Ferrari driver, Charles Leclerc, expressed deep disappointment with the performance of the SF-24 car during the main race of the Bahrain Grand Prix at the Bahrain International Circuit, Sakhir, last weekend.

Leclerc only finished in fourth place, with a time difference of 39.669 seconds from defending champion Max Verstappen (Red Bull). Meanwhile, his teammate, Carlos Sainz, was in the position in front of him.

“We have made steps forward during the free practice sessions, but I find it difficult to see the positive side after this weekend,” he said as reported by an official Formula 1 source, Monday (4/3/2024).

Leclerc continued, “When we tried to combine the data to perform optimally, problems appeared in the car. I am very disappointed with our performance in this main race.”

He also highlighted the challenges he faced during the Bahrain Grand Prix due to technical problems that plagued the SF-24 car. “It was difficult to drive well. We faced a major problem with the brake system, and we will investigate the cause so that it does not happen again in the future,” the 26-year-old driver added.

Leclerc also revealed that the problem interfered with his car's acceleration, especially at 10 wipe First. “Every lap, I had to brake three or four meters earlier, and the problem got worse every lap,” he said.

“The team also reported a temperature difference of over 100 degrees between the right and left front tires, which persisted throughout the race. We were in a very bad position,” he added.

However, Leclerc hopes that the team can improve the car's performance before the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix which will be held at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit on March 7-9.
