SEA V League 2023: Passing Fierce Match, Indonesian Volleyball Team Conquers Thailand 3-1

Bogor, Beritasatu.com – The Indonesian men’s volleyball team defeated Thailand 3-1 (21-25, 25-17, 25-23, 27-25) in the 2023 SEA V League at Candradimuka Sports Hall, Padepokan Volleyball Police General Kunarto, Sentul, Bogor, Sunday (23/7/2023).

The match between the two teams was fierce for four sets.

The fast tempo game was shown by both teams. Indonesia, which was late in the heat, was left behind 7-8 and continued to be behind 13-15 before closing the first set with a 21-15 defeat.

Indonesia rose in the second set. Taking the initiative to attack, Indonesia won 4-2. Boy Arnez Arabi’s loud spikes were unable to stop the Thai players several times. Indonesia continued to lead 7-4 and widened 11-4. It was increasingly difficult for Indonesia to catch points, becoming 14-18 and finally closing with a 25-17 victory to make the score 1-1.

Tight match occurred in the third set. Thailand put up a fierce resistance and had won 5-3. Despite being left behind, Indonesia was able to even the score to 12-12 before turning ahead 19-17 and closing the third set with a narrow victory 25-23.

At the beginning of the fourth set, coach Jiang Jie’s team were able to lead 5-2 and continued to maintain the advantage to 16-13. Both teams are chasing each other points. However, the attacks carried out by Indonesia were able to lock in victory in the fourth set.

With this result, Indonesia leads the top of the standings with nine points and is confirmed to be the champion in the first round of the 2023 SEA V League.
