Como's promotion to Serie A was like a fairy tale. They went bankrupt before being bought by the Djarum Group in 2019. This was a turning point for Como. They then continued to move up the caste until finally arriving in Serie A in 2024.

However, Como will not take the instant method. Mirwan Suwarso as the representative of the owner of Como 1907 in an interview with KLY Sports on Thursday (16/5/2024) confirmed that his team has no plans to aim for the Scudetto title in the near future. Como will try to achieve this gradually.

The reason is that to become a competitor in the race for the Serie A title, Como has to compete with Inter Milan, Juventus and AC Milan, whose salary budget is currently much larger.

“To be able to win the Scudetto we will compete with Juventus, Inter Milan and others with salaries of 60 to 100 million euros. Our current salary is around 20 million euros at most. Como is still below Bologna, Torino etc. We are in the same class as Hellas Verona, “Lecce, Frosinone and Empoli are like that,” said Mirwan.
